Cardiology Services to offer PAD screenings at Magee General Hospital
Magee General Hospital and Cardiology Magee, a partnership of Forrest General Hospital and Hattiesburg Clinic’s Southern Heart Center, is working with SafeHeart Health Screens to hold a Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD) awareness event and screening on February 9 at Magee General Hospital.

This screening is being held in an effort to raise awareness about PAD and other types of heart disease, as well as make early detection of heart disease a possibility for many patients. Mississippi is ranked as number one in America for deaths due to heart disease and stroke, and screenings like these serve to help reduce that rate.

The screening will consist of five different components, including Carotid Artery Ultrasound Screen, Carotid Intima Media Thickness (CIMT) Ultrasound Screen, Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Ultrasound Screen, Peripheral Vascular Disease Screen and Atrial Fibrillation Screen. All of these tests, which would normally cost $129, are being offered for only $89, which is a small price to pay for the peace of mind provided by these five screenings.

The screening will be held at Magee General Hospital on Tuesday, February 9 from 7:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. Please use the new entrance to the hospital on Old Hwy 149. For more information or to schedule an appointment for screening at this event, call SafeHeart Health Screens at 1-866-548-3006 or 601-450-5483, or sign up online at www.safehearthealthscreens.com.
