Patient Services Coordinator:
The Patient Services Coordinator manages and coordinates the time and appointments for patients receiving radiation therapy treatments. Some specific job duties include triaging patients and scheduling throughout the patients treatment process. Schedule patients CT exam. Schedules follow up appointments. Schedule and obtain preauthorization for imaging tests. Telephone patients to remind them of a scheduled appointment. Answer phones in a timely manner. Maintain exceptional telephone etiquette at all times. Emphasizing our We Care philosophy. Efficient data entry as required by EPICS and or Aria.
Education/Skills: High school diploma or equivalent required. Working knowledge of Radiation Oncology/Medical Oncology work flow processes normally acquired through previous experience in a cancer center preferred.
Work Experience: Experience in a physician office or hospital setting preferred. Medical Terminology and computer applications required.
Mental Demands: Must have good oral, telephone etiquette, and written communication skills.
RN Patient Care Coordinator Labor and Delivery:
The Patient Care Coordinator is accountable and responsible for managing the clinical care of course of treatment of a number of patients. Coordination of care is accomplished through collaboration with physicians, associate staff, and other health care providers to ensure that patient outcomes are achieved within the projected course of treatment using the nursing process. The Patient Care Coordinator is accountable to the Patient Care Manager. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served; also demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed.
Education/Skills: Graduate of a recognized non-online RN program required.
Work Experience: Minimum of two years as a staff RN in an acute setting required, with six months being at Forrest General Hospital preferred.
Certification/Licensure: Current RN license - Mississippi State Board of Nursing required. ACLS, NPR/NALS certification required.
Mental Demands: Ability to perform as a team member, cooperate with others, follow directions precisely, demonstrate initiative, and function under stress.
