Camp Bluebird is the first camp in South Mississippi designed for adults with a cancer diagnosis. The two-and-a-half-day camp is held at Paul B. Johnson State Park and includes optional recreational activities, social events, devotionals, education opportunities and lots of sharing time.
The camp's purpose is to promote a sense of well-being among cancer survivors, to teach skills for living with cancer and cancer treatments, and to provide a time for rest and relaxation. Camp Bluebird cancer survivors participate in arts and crafts and other activities such as fishing, boating, hiking, meditation, sharing and caring-all under the supervision of trained staff.
