Forrest General's Pastoral Services provides pastoral visitation and counseling for all patients requesting its services. Hospitalization provides time for reflection, which often brings forth hopes and fears. This reflection is normal and can be a time for spiritual growth.
The Chaplain and other Pastoral Services staff are dedicated to helping patients and their families toward the fullest possible recovery. Spiritual resources, including Forrest General's devotional opportunities, can be an effective aid during a patient's healing process. Several local and state church services are available through patient room television sets.
If you are a patient in the hospital and would like to schedule a visit from one of Forrest General's Pastoral Services staff members, please call 601-288-4227 or e-mail chaplain@forrestgeneral.com. Daily Devotionals can also be heard by calling 601-288-4341.
Woullard Chapel is located at Forrest General on the first floor, directly across from the main elevators. The chapel is open 24 hours a day, and offers a place for patients, staff and visitors to meditate and pray.
Pastoral Services also facilitates pastoral ministries of area clergy through contemporary health care training programs, education and individual consultations. Click here for more information related to clergy.
