The newly expanded and redesigned Family Birthplace is now open at Forrest General Hospital, featuring the new Family Birthplace entrance, Mother-Baby Unit, Labor and Delivery suites, operating rooms, Post Anesthesia Care Unit recovery room suites, hospitality rooms and lactation lounge.
The Family Birthplace entrance was specially designed with the expectant mom and her family in mind. The entrance and hassle-free parking combine convenience and ambiance like no other birthplace in South Mississippi.
The new Mother-Baby Unit creates a comfortable atmosphere with classic décor and all of the comforts of home. The suites include larger rooms to encourage family bonding, as well as allow the staff to continue to provide high-quality, family-centered patient care – creating a soothing atmosphere to welcome and nurture little ones.
The Family Birthplace also features newly redesigned and updated Labor and Delivery suites. The suites are larger, cozier, and aimed at making the labor and delivery experience more comfortable for moms and their families. The intrinsic details found in each suite make the birthing process an experience that cannot be equaled.
