Spirit of Women
Spirit of Women Hospital Network is a national coalition of hospitals and health care facilities in more than 60 U.S. cities joined together to advance the cause and business of women’s health. Spirit of Women is a national movement - more than just a media campaign or a series of events, but a movement led by hospitals across the United States and supported by corporate partners and national media with the mission to move women to take action for better health…mind, body and spirit.
The Spirit of Women Hospital Network frequently works in cooperation with U.S. government health agencies such as The Office on Women's Health and the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute. As a coalition of hospitals, healthcare providers, corporate partners and media, Spirit of Women is the proud promoter of national educational initiatives for women and their families. Programs are implemented throughout the country and address health topics such as menopause, cancer, incontinence, diabetes, heart disease, healthy pregnancy, and many more.
On the local level, Forrest General Hospital provides health education programs, health assessments and health screenings on a regular basis to urge not only women, but also their families, to take action for better health. With almost 6,000 members, Forrest General is the exclusive Spirit of Women hospital for South Mississippi. Since its inception in 2004, Forrest General’s Spirit of Women program has developed into a resource for women of all ages in the community.
A lifetime membership costs only $20 and includes: introductory membership gifts; invitations to seminars, classes and events; support groups; travel programs; a monthly calendar of events; a quarterly magazine; valuable discounts from local businesses (Rewards Partners) and lots of fun!
