William C. (Bill) Oliver, CPA, FHFMA
Forrest General Hospital President
Bill Oliver is in his ninth year as President of Forrest General Hospital, which is a 512-bed tertiary referral center with over 3,000 employees serving South Mississippi.
He is a Certified Public Accountant and a Fellow in the Healthcare Financial Management Association. A graduate of the University of Mississippi, he has been involved in the healthcare industry as an auditor, consultant, CFO, COO and CEO. He currently serves as chairman of the Board of Voluntary Hospitals of America (VHA), Gulf States Region; chairman of the Board of AAA Ambulance Services; and chairman of the Board of the Southeast Mississippi Trauma Region. He has recently served as chairman of the Board of Governors of the Mississippi Hospital Association.
Prior to Forrest General, he worked at various hospitals including Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, GA; Baptist Medical Center in Montgomery, AL; and St. Dominic Hospital and University Hospital, both in Jackson, MS.
Bill serves on the Dean’s Advisory Council to the College of Health at the University of Southern Mississippi. He also serves on the boards of the Hattiesburg Division of BancorpSouth and the Greater Hattiesburg Community Foundation.
He is a member of Parkway Heights United Methodist Church and the Rotary Club of Hattiesburg. He has been involved in leadership roles of fundraising activities for the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society, Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi, the United Way, the Hattiesburg Arts Council, USM Foundation, and the Partnership for Tomorrow campaign of the Area Development Partnership.
Bill and his wife Becky have two sons, a daughter-in-law and two grandchildren. David and Kelly Oliver reside in Hattiesburg with their children, Carson and Cecile. Kent resides in Atlanta, Georgia.
